AI at KSU: Microsoft Copilot

Check out Microsoft Copilot, an artificial intelligence (AI) powered chatbot that produces text and images—and it's the only AI tool that ensures data protection for KSU students, faculty, and staff.

While Copilot is available for everyone, to protect your data you MUST log in at copilot.microsoft.com using your KSU email and password. Look for the "Protected" logo in the top-right corner—this indicates your data is encrypted, not retained by Microsoft, and not used as a training set for the AI.

Look for this icon: Protected button

IMPORTANT: Always check with your professor(s) before using AI for academic work.

Cybersecurity and QR Codes

Scan smart, stay safe: QR codes are handy for quick access to websites and information, but they need to be used with caution.

Follow these four tips for safe scanning:

  1. Check before you scan: Only scan QR codes from trusted sources. If a code appears on something sketchy or from an unfamiliar source, don’t scan it.
  2. Preview Links: Use a QR code scanner that lets you preview the link before you open it. This way, you can see where it’s taking you and decide if it’s safe.
  3. Update your security: Keep your device’s security software up to date. It helps protect you from malicious downloads and attacks.
  4. Verify Requests:  If a QR code is asking for personal information or payment, verify the request through another reliable source before you proceed.

Report suspicious codes: If you come across a suspicious QR code, report it to UITS immediately. Email abuse@kennesaw.edu. This helps keeping our campus community safe!
