UITS Operations

  • Application
  • IT/AV Hardware and Software purchases, and Technology Equipment rentals (for outside vendors) require a UITS approval.  Per the Technology Purchasing, Relocation and Surplus Policy a UITS Approval is required prior to purchasing. Please request by completing the UITS Approval form.
  • UITS is available to build a quote for a technology purchase (i.e. Computers, Tablets, Servers, Peripheral and Audio Visual).  Please request by completing a Request a Quote form.
  • All University-supported cellular devices and/or service must have prior approval from the Chief Information Officer. To request a device and/or service, please complete the Cellular Request Form and include any details relevant to the request. All Employees and Supervisors must read and agree to the Cellular, Wireless Communications Devices, and Services Policy (policy.kennesaw.edu > click policies > search for Cellular, Wireless Communications Devices, and Services Policy).
  • KSU Anywhere is a UITS mobile work initiative for KSU employees. Employees of colleges and departments participating in the program may exchange their desktop computers and/or existing laptops and mobile devices for a new PC or Macintosh laptop device.
  • Management of IT inventory intake, delivery, moves and upgrades of all KSU-tagged IT assets including desktops, laptops, printers, tablets and VoIP phones.
  • Per the Technology Purchasing, Relocation and Surplus Policy no one other than UITS designees are to relocate desktop devices or large IT devices.
  • UITS tracks IT equipment across KSU to meet support and audit needs. Please request to transfer ownership of equipment from one person to another by completing the Equipment Transfer form.
  • Equipment Surplus
    At the end of the IT equipment Life-Cycle, equipment must be sent to surplus for proper removal from use (see Technology Purchasing, Relocation and Surplus Policy). Request surplus here to schedule pick-up of equipment
  • Timely replacement of university employee, classroom and lab computers
  • The Dell Educational Purchase Program (MPP) may be used by KSU faculty and staff for purchasing Dell products using personal funds. MPP is not to be used for purchasing Dell equipment for Kennesaw State University
  • Kennesaw State University's technology equipment procedures including equipment needs and purchases, responsible custodianship of equipment and missing/stolen equipment
