Fall 2024 Technology Updates
We have several technology updates to share as Fall 2024 begins. Below, please find an overview. For complete information about Fall 2024 technology updates, check out this resource.
- Windows 11 upgrade: Computers in KSU classrooms and labs have been upgraded to Windows 11. All KSU computers must be updated this fall.
- Adobe licenses can now be renewed or checked out for Fall 2024.
- VoiceThread (a web-based application that allows instructors to put collections of images, videos, documents, and presentations at the center of an asynchronous course discussion) has several new features.
- Respondus Monitor (a companion product for the Respondus LockDown Browser to record students during online, non-proctored quizzes in D2L) has been updated.
- D2L updates, including advanced assignments evaluating options
- Kahoot (an interactive learning platform to create and play game-based quizzes and assignments) is available for instructors on a first-come, first-served basis.
- OwlTrain (KSU’s free e-learning platform) is moving to a new user learning experience.
- New security feature: Quarantine folders separate emails flagged as suspicious.
- Technology training: UITS is offering a variety of virtual technology workshops this semester in addition to one-on-one and group training by request.
- The KSU Status Page provides up-to-date service information about University IT systems and services, including status and upcoming maintenance.

Adobe Licenses for Fall
Faculty and staff: It's time to renew or check out Adobe licenses for Fall 2024!
Renewing Your Adobe License for Fall
If you checked out an Abobe license for Spring and did not renew it for Summer, it expired in mid-May; if you checked out an Adobe license for Summer, it expired on August 5 (with a 7-day grace period ending on August 12).
If you checked out an Adobe license for Summer, you should have received an email reminder from external email address noreply@kivuto.com with a link to renew your license.
Checking Out a New Adobe License for Fall
If you have not previously checked out an Adobe license and would like to have one for Fall, you can check one out by following the steps below.
Instructions
- Navigate to desktopsoftware.kennesaw.edu.
- Log in with your KSU email and password.
- Choose the Adobe software you plan to use for work.
- Click Add to Cart, then view your cart and check out.
