Do you use AI to get more done at work? There's a way to protect your—and KSU’s—data when using AI: Access Microsoft Copilot, a powerful AI chatbot, securely using by logging in to copilot.microsoft.com with your KSU credentials. Verify the Protected icon is visible in the top of the screen.

Want to get the most out of Copilot? Join a Copilot workshop to learn to use Copilot securely while generating and revising text and images. We'll teach you to give Copilot effective prompts so you get what you want.

This Wednesday, August 7, UITS will deliver a series of workshops designed to help faculty master D2L, KSU's learning management platform. These workshops will be especially helpful for new instructors.

D2L Day Workshops
D2L: Getting Started
This workshop will introduce participants to the D2L Brightspace learning management system. Participants will learn to create a module with a syllabus, files, an assignment dropbox, and a discussion. Participants will also learn how to use the classlist, grades tool, import/export/copy tool, and the student view.

D2L Assignments
This one hour, mini-workshop will introduce participants to the advanced elements of Assignments in D2L Brightspace. Participants will learn how to leave feedback and grade assignments. Participants will learn to configure plagiarism detection with integrated TurnItIn, then how to view the originality report and leave markup. Participants should have a basic knowledge of D2L before taking this workshop, such as having attended a D2L Brightspace Getting Started course.

D2L Quizzes
This hour long workshop will introduce participants to the Quizzes tool in D2L Brightspace. Participants will learn how to create questions in the Question Library, then how to create Quizzes. Quiz settings an options will be covered, including tying the quiz to the gradebook and creating random sections of questions. Participants should have a basic knowledge of D2L before taking this workshop, such as having attended the D2L Brightspace Getting Started course.

D2L Grades
Learn to use the Grades tool in D2L Brightspace. In this workshop, we will cover how to configure Grades settings, build grade items, and enter grades. Participants should have a basic knowledge of D2L before taking this workshop, such as having attended a D2L Brightspace Getting Started course.

OwlTrain Update: New OwlTrain Experience
KSU's free e-learning platform, OwlTrain, has moved to a new user learning experience! While the core user experience remains unchanged, the new learning experience provides an improved interface with new features and delivers personalized learning to meet individual needs.
Changes and new features include . . .
- Left-hand navigation for both learners and admins
- A Library page instead of a library menu
- A What’s New page highlights new content and features
- Access to all pages from a new My learning page with time-sensitive items listed
- A Certifications page shows you all certifications that are available
- A Skill Benchmark page shows all the skill benchmarks available
- AI Simulations page shows all the CAISY scenarios available
- And more—Find the full list of changes and new features on Skillsoft’s website.
The processes for finding compliance trainings and accessing compliance certificates have not changed.
