Improved Research Connections at KSU

In summer 2023, KSU joined the CDC, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and other leading research institutions in establishing high-speed pathways to Internet2 and other heavily used commercial content providers. This allows for rapid sharing of large amounts of data with other research organizations, facilitating real-time collaboration between researchers at KSU and other participating institutions worldwide.

This year, we have upgraded from 10G to 100G on each campus to better serve KSU researchers’ growing needs.

You do not need to take any extra steps to use this network connection; UITS has implemented this upgrade to KSU’s network behind the scenes, so you are actively using these faster connections any time you access internet-based resources on campus.

Windows 11 Upgrade

All computers in classrooms and labs have been upgraded to Windows 11. By the end of Fall 2024, all KSU computers must be upgraded to Windows 11.

When using Windows 11, you will notice many applications—including Outlook and Office—remain unchanged. As always, the KSU Service Desk will be here to support you as you acclimate to the new system.
